As Salamu Alaykum !
My name is Alejandra. I am a Hispanic Muslim living in Texas. This blog is a space to write about my adventures in the domestic arts. I take my roles as wife, mother, and homemaker seriously. I am also an undergrad Biology student, and just like anyone else struggle to balance career goals and home life.
I am married to one very patient man named Ammar. He is Palestinian and has lived in the USA for six years. We have been married for three years, and it has been quite the roller coaster. Some days it’s a clash of cultures, but mostly we just laugh.
Amira is our extremely spirited daughter. She keeps us active and sleep deprived. She enjoys jumping and saying No!.
I worship one God (Allah). I believe in the prophets, from Adam to Muhammad. And everyday I am humbled by the blessings Allah has showered on me. I am not perfect, but everyday I try to be better than yesterday. I pray all my efforts lead me to heaven (Jannah).
I love cooking, but don’t ask me to bake. I am passionate about eating real food, and try to buy as much unprocessed and organic foods as I can. I enjoy decorating my home, especially on the cheap. Living in an apartment has certainly made me more creative, and I love trying to make a temporary space feel homey.
I have learned and been inspired by other bloggers, and I hope this blog is helpful to someone. I love learning tips and tricks that make my life easier– who doesn’t?
